I recently upgraded my PC and while I was in the planning stages I thought that I’d like to have at least 16 GB of RAM as long as the price was right. You can read about my reasons here:

When I started shopping for DDR3 memory I became very happy to see how cheap it was. At least, when it came to the 4GB sticks. 8GB sticks are still too expensive but I was able to pick up 4x4GB sticks of Gskill Ripjaws X for $88! 2x28GB sticks were around $200. It looks like you can now find 2×2 8GB sticks for around $120 which is better if you plan on going with 32 GB in the future.
The best place to get ram right now seems to be Newegg. You can see the kit I purchased using the link below which also came with a free 4GB micro SD card.
