Dear Internet friends and family,

Using Google’s define feature, define gadget returns the following:

A small mechanical device or tool, esp. an ingenious or novel one.

While the definition states that a gadget is mechanical in nature we have seen the term “gadget” be used in reference to software over the past several years.  ”Google Gadgets” and “Windows 7 Gadgets” are just two examples.  With that in mind, thegadgetdads.com is a site where you can find reviews written by men who are fathers and lovers of all things that can be placed into the category of “gadgets” as it pertains to the 21st Century.

I often find myself in a conversation about how our kids are so lucky to have such great toys.  In each of these conversations you can always hear something like, “When I was a kid we played with Lincoln Logs and rocks.”  However, everyone seems to fail to see how wonderful it is to be a DAD with all of these cool gadgets and technology.  One minute I’m playing with the latest iPhone and the next an RC helicopter.  While there is nothing wrong with a grown man playing with an RC helicopter it is much easier to justify the purchase of a new toy with the excuse that, “I bought it for my son.”  The next minute I’m able to sit down and build something with Legos, play Skylanders on the PS3 or take a break from work and play with some sort of electronic Rubick’s cube.

Life as a father and a lover of all gadgets in the 21st century is a good one.

In our blog you’ll find articles where we review as many gadgets to which we can gain access.  Hopefully these articles can help you make an informed decision about making a purchase or at the very least give you a bit of a gadget fix.  We hope you find something here that you can enjoy or find valuable.

Sincerely,

thegadgetdads.com
